Sasha Allen is the only transgender openly performing artist to have reached The Battle Rounds of The Voice Live Shows. That has been the situation for 21 seasons. The Newtown duo of Jim and Sasha Allan, are now in the Top 8 throughout the 21 years of the Live Shows The Voice! Sasha confessed that he's transgender when they were preparing their entry for the Blind Auditions, and he said to Parade.com that it was a decision that needed thought and consideration. "That was a very difficult decision because it's exposing a vulnerable part of yourself to millions and billions of individuals," said Sasha, who transitioned while he was in high school. The fans' support as well as the effects that this has had on people, regardless of the fact that it was a difficult one it was what ultimately made Sasha that the transition was worthwhile. We performed the song prior to The Voice even existed. We received the song and we were over the moon. The song was one we thought of and we came up with ideas to arrange. The crowd truly hit the mark."
