Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is a American chef television personality and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network. Her signature spiky blonde hair and pumped-up personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals straightforward, simple techniques to master for home cooks on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. The chef Burrell is also an experienced chef of New York City's best restaurants. She has also explored Italy's cuisine and the culture of Italy, as well as the geography. While living in the the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. She pursued her love of working in the restaurant business by enrolment at The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. She states "I loved being a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I loved every minute of it." I just couldn't get enough pleasure from the experience. When I graduated from the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners, Chef Burrell spent an entire year in Italy studying and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria as well La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. While in Italy, she developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. This has had a profound impact on the way she prepares her food. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten the lives of children facing challenges. She is also an Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation celebrity ambassador. she promotes the awareness of juvenile diabetes. As a guest speaker and mentor, she travels around the US to talk about her culinary passion and profession. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne has often said that I am so lucky to be able to share my passion to others.
